Dear Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers,
I want to make you aware that we have coordinated with local law enforcement to conduct an announced lockdown drill on Tuesday morning, October 20, as an important part of routine school safety procedures at Smethport Area School District. Our administration, faculty, and staff members will be reviewing important safety protocols with our students.
School staff members are trained to respond swiftly to any threats to school safety and to take appropriate action in the case of an emergency. Working in conjunction with the Smethport Borough Police Department, we utilize these brief drills to emphasize quick response to a threat to school safety.
